A - Z Challenge

The A-Z Challenges in April

The A-Z challenge runs each year in April. Participants aim to add a blog post for each letter of the alphabet during the month. My first attempt in 2016 gained many comments and I was inspired to take on several other years.

2016 - Apps in April - many of these apps for Android and iOS have now been superseded.

2017 Life on the farm  These posts recall my view of growing up on a farm in the 1950s and 60s.

2019 Hannah's Recipes Some of my Mother's recipes in her own handwriting.

2020 Newspaper Clippings - Galvin ancestors A variety of clippings detailing some incidents in the lives of my children's forebears.

2021 The AJCP - Australian Joint Copying Project In 2020 Trove had recently finished digitizing this huge collection. I wrote these posts as a guide for family historians. At the end on the Z post there is a link to all posts in the series and a pdf of all posts.

2025 On this Day in April - In Years Past Each day in April had some significance in our joint family histories so these short posts pulled out some details that may never be otherwise acknowledged.

2026 Living in Kashmir: A Year of People Places and Memories In 1979 I accompanied my husband when he was posted to Kashmir as a military observer on the line of control. These recollections are our combined memories of the time between March 1979 and March 1980.
