Hannah's recipes A-Z challenge

The Recipe Folder

Hannah's recipe folder
My mother, Hannah Horgan collected and compiled recipes from friends, family and acquaintances. These recipes are filed in a battered blue plastic folder held together by old masking tape.

I've joined the yearly April A-Z challenge to motivate myself to digitise some of these recipes to preserve her handwriting and to record some of her favourite recipes. When done I will pass this folder to one of her twenty seven grandchildren where I know it will be cared for and treasured.

For the wake after her funeral in 2013, several of her Horgan grand-daughters made  some of Hannah's favourite cakes and slices from her recipe collection.

The A-Z challenge each April mandates that bloggers post each day, except for Sundays, focusing on the consecutive letters of the alphabet. Recipes are a good topic for this challenge with the difficult letters of Q and Z well catered.

At the end of the month I will post a link to each letter with the associated recipes.
